The weekend after my Olympus climb, I was feeling strong and decided to challenge myself with a higher mileage/elevation (for me, anyways) day by doing the North Bend Triple. The North Bend Triple is completing Mailbox Peak, Mount Si, and Mount Teneriffe in the same day.
With some route recommendations from Stuke, I decided to go ahead and do this challenge by starting my day at Mailbox Peak. I went up and down the old trail, got back to the parking lot, downed some Cheez-its and water, drove over to the Mount Si parking lot and started up.
I felt really solid going up Mount Si, I never needed a break and was able to keep a relatively quick pace the entire time. I took a bit of a break on the top before continuing on to Teneriffe to chat with some people, snack, and take in the beautiful day.
I continued on the trail towards Teneriffe. The connector trail I took cut down some of the elevation gain until closer to the summit. I was the only one up on the summit when I arrived and promptly headed down the steep trail to beat the sun before it set.
